Based on the latest financial data published by Nintendo we learn that Mario Kart 8 has exceeded 50 million copies sold worldwide, adding the sales of the original version for WiiU and the Deluxe re-release for Nintendo Switch, confirming itself as one of the most successful games ever of the giant of Kyoto.

According to the latest data updated to December 31, 2021 shared by the big N, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 43.35 million copies, confirming among other things the best-selling game on Nintendo Switch ever. In short, a true evergreen.

In addition, if we add the copies purchased for Wii U, amounting to 8.46 million, Mario Kart 8 has sold a total of 51.81 million copies, making it the second most successful Nintendo game ever after Wii Sports (82.90 million) or the third if we consider the total sales of Pokémon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow for GameBoy and Virtual Console (59.92 million), according to data reported on the portal vgsales.
